The purpose of this case study was to redesign Heroic’s mobile app navigation to make it more intuitive, user-friendly, and streamlined. The challenge involved rethinking the existing top and bottom navigation, identifying friction points, consideration for content and actions, and providing an improved user experience while maintaining access to all of the app’s functionality.
As I approached this study, I considered how I would conduct user research. I listed steps and methods that would be used for gathering key user data. The data would be used to gain insight into the user's needs and priorities when creating solutions.
Next, I mapped out the Heroic app user flows to understand the user’s path and how they accessed different functions and information. After dissecting the different flows and the current user experience, I created a new streamlined, and simplified user flow.
Using the new user flow, I developed wireframes for screens that were directly impacted by the redesign. These wireframes were then incorporated into a functioning prototype to convey my vision for an improved, user-centered experience.
